Over the past few years London has taken on an increasingly magical appearance at Christmas. First one skating rink appeared, then several. Then the Christmas markets and Winter Wonderland. And to cap it all the Christmas lights along the main streets have become more and more spectacular each year. I am featuring three photos of London at Christmas on this post. Each features dramatic lighting along the two of the main shopping streets in the West End of London.
The first shows the lights at Oxford Street dominated by the purple colours of Selfridges.
The second shows the Christmas lights at Regents Street spiced up by the traffic trails of buses and cars.
The third of my photos of London at Christmas is a variation on the second. The same location set off by the different patterns of headlights and tail lights from vehicles coming and going.
There are other London locations featuring fairytale lights. Its certainly worth a visit to South Moulton Street if you get chance. Don’t expect to have the place to yourself though!
(Its hard to believe that a year has gone by since I last posted pictures of London in the festive season. Where has the time gone?)To see more photographs of London visit the online gallery
